BRETHREN MY HEARTS DESIRE.

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold, I'd rather be his than have riches untold; I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land, Yes i'd rather be led by his nail scared hand. Than to be the king of a vast domain And be held in sin's dread sway I'd rather have Jesus than anything This old world affords today. These are the words of a beautiful Christian song.And i am sure this is what R.A. Torrey had in mind when he said these words in front of a British audience in the early 1900's. He said I WOULD RATHER WIN SOULS THAN BE THE GREATEST KING OR EMPEROR ON EARTH;I WOULD RATHER WIN SOULS THAN BE THE GREATEST GENERAL THAT EVER COMMANDED AN ARMY......MY ambition in life is to win as many as possible. Oh,it is the only thing worth doing,to save souls;and men and women,we can all do it. As i was studying the life od R.A.Torrey that song came to my heart. Torrey's words inspire my soul to preach,and my heart to win souls. Today there are so many young people,old people,middle aged folks that need Jesus Christ.Just listen to the news about wars and rumors of wars,killings of young students that profess faith in JESUS.World religions that claim they are the way you should live,yet their way leads to death. Jesus offers everlasting life.As i was out and about today,i looked around me and saw people going in bars in the middle of the day,going to and fro busy working to pay for their earthly goods etc. Some to pay for entertainment.I had this thought. I said self,is all this worth the exchange for my soul? Of course it isn't! R.A. Torrey was just as i was at some point in his life. Then we both realized that the carnal life was not working out so well for us. Many different men and women have different testimonies,but in the end we are brothers in Christ as we share the Words of Romans chapter 10 verses 9,10,11,12,13. SOULS SOULS SOULS SOULS! My friends,this is what weighs in the balance.Matthew 16:26.....what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Please today,exchange your sin filled life with all its temporary pleasures for a life living for Christ,and eternal life. If your backslidden,then come back home to Jesus.
