LIFTED TO THE LEVEL OF DEVINE LOVE!
I find this very encouraging."When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinds men,nor thy rich neighbors;lest they bid thee again, and recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:And thou shalt be blessed;for they cannot recompense thee:(i love this part)for thou shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.(
THE WORDS OF THE LORD Jesus Christ)
Luke chapter 14 verses 12 thru 14)Oh my ....this is a real ministry.Christ is the resurrection and the life(JOHN CHAPTER 11:VERSE 25 AND 26)
"I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE:HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME,THOUGH HE WERE DEAD,YET SHALL HE LIVE:AND WHOSOEVER LIVETH AND BELIEVETH IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE.BELIEVETH THOU THIS?
So have a heart for the needy.Do what you can and your reward will be awesomely powerful.
I recall a distant ancestor of mine, actually my Grandfathers cousin. The testimony she left behind is powerful. At the age of 15 i traveled with a couple of family members to a small town in rural Alabama. This was the summer of 1969.My Granddad had just past away, and we did it out of respect. Upon arrival at this church,i recall it sat back from the road and people parked their cars in the field in front of the church under trees.Wow there were cars everywhere. All over the front, back, down the country road. I do not recall my reaction. But as time went on i never forgot that trip. We got inside and oh my,one half of this big old church house sat almost all Black folks. The other side white folks. So many that people were all over the outside could not get in.I had never heard happy shouting at a funeral before. But it came mostly from the black folk. Fast forward 30+ years and i dropped in just down the street from this church to the little town hall.
A lady was locking up city hall but i stopped her to see if i could find this church again, and the home of my Granddads cousin. This lady was married to a guy who was kin to my granddads cousin. She told me the reason for so much respect from the black community
in town was because back before Welfare etc, that my grandads cousin would take many people ,mostly black into her home a nurse them back to health after them being very sick. She fed the hungry and nursed the sick. The town has made her home a museum.WOW!
What an example of Jesus words.I am sure she has gotten her reward for the just,as Jesus was talking about.I never knew her,but one day soon i shall see her. And her testimony of following Christ is still alive. Some 46 years later. Oh but if we all loved Jesus that much, and learned to love people the way he does.
